Kylie Returning?

Yet more rumours that Kylie Minogue – who starred in her own TV spectacular last night performing the synchronistic “Two Hearts” – could return to Doctor Who after the 2007 Christmas special…

As reported back in August the Australian pop princess is open to a repeat performance, even, it seems, a full series – indicating perhaps that her character definitely survives the Christmas special Voyage of the Damned:

The singer recently revealed that show bosses are planning to reintroduce her character at a later date.

“It’s not up to me but I know there has been talk that my character could be reintroduced at a later date. We’ll have to wait and see,” the Daily Express quoted her as saying.

“I’ve always been a fan of Doctor Who and when you think how long it’s been running, it is a series that is a unique piece of television history.”

If she should return of course, then that wouldn’t be quite as momentous as you might think. After all there are rumours that the Tylers are to return at some stage in Series 4; the Master has been rumoured to return next year; Martha Jones and Donna Noble are both set to return at different stages – in fact at this stage I would be more surprised if Kylie didn’t return.

Should be fun finding out…
