The Mirror has reported on the Russell T Davies interview in DWM 373 and his revelation that there was to be a third Doctor Who spinoff.
He proposed the 90-minute special, which was commissioned by the BBC, but then had a sudden change of heart.
But he said: “It was going to be fantastic. Rose Tyler: Earth Defence. But then I just thought, ‘no’. It spoils Doctor Who if we can see Rose and the Doctor can’t.”
Which is a welcome relief to us all, I think you’ll agree…
Billie Piper meanwhile is due to start filming the ITV adaptation of “Mansfield Park” at Newby Hall in North Yorkshire between September 5th and October 1st, reports the Yorkshire Post.

icWales reported recently that the cost of filming Doctor Who, Torchwood and various other new productions has been a boost to the property market in South Wales, and meanwhile the West Usk Lighthouse near NEwport is up for sale, reports BBC News for a cool million. Bouth in 1987 for just (!) Â£80,000:
The lighthouse lamp was restored in 1997 and it now also boasts a floatation tank, Rolls-Royce, outdoor hot tub and a life-size Dalek model signed by former Doctor Who Jon Pertwee – all included in the Â£950,000 asking price.
A little late we are on this one, but last month a group of home made Daleks entered a race in the Pembrokeshire area of Wales. The Little Haven Dalek Race took place on July 29th and featured Daleks racing for a Â£50 prize. The RNLI fundraiser was won by a Dalek – you can see which one by clciking here.
