Radio Times & Ratings!

That great staple of British Culture, the Radio Times, has provided us with on of the finest front covers they’ve ever produced this week – a lovely folded panoramic shot of 3 of the updated Daleks parading across Westminster Bridge a la Dalek Invasion of Earth. Inside, there is a good look at the Dalek, including a photo unused early model and a shot of the Dalek “open”… by collecting tokens, you can acquire a limited edition Dalek poster exclusive to Radio Times.

More Dalek news! Kasterborous contributor Brian A. Terranova has alerted us to the fact that a clip of this weeks long-awaited episode Dalek was broadcast apparently on daytime television this week. This clip is in circulation online, and features the Dalek single-handedly taking out half a dozen soldiers before beginning its ascent upstairs with the declaration “ELEVATE!”. Attention must be drawn to the sturdy construct of the Dalek and its (suitable) tank-like ability to rotate its (middle) gun section independently of its lower section and head section.

Finally World War Three, the second installment of the adventure that begun with Aliens of London, trounced the lowbrow ITV entertainment scheduled opposite on Saturday night. “Celebrity Wrestling”(!) attracted 3.8 million viewers, a 21% audience share.

Look out for this Saturday’s ITV Celebrity Wrestling installment – according to The Star, ITV are providing a double dose of girl-on-girl wrestling. Fully clothed, of course.

About

Doctor Who and me go way back. I first discovered it on my local PBS Station WHYY in the suburbs outside Philadelphia when I was a young kid; though I am uncertain of the exact age.
