Well if someone was going to do a story like that then only Red Dwarf could have pulled it off.  (I read just recently that Tom Baker or Douglas Adams wanted to do something very similar, but it’s just not for Who).

Sure it may not have been LOL but I thought it was fun in the end and that’s what matters.

yeah i think it’s unfair the way a lot of ‘fans’ have ripped into it, because i think, while it wasn’t vintage dwarf, it was still pretty good and i now am desperate for a new series

Man, I just jumped on here to start a thread about this … I only heard about this last night (!!!) and watched the eps on youtube about 3 minutes later. It was never going to live up to what you expect, but I think it was better than the last series by far, and there were actually a few really funny moments. A bit like Black Adder Back and Forth a few years ago. I really enjoyed it! And although I watched it on YouTube (not exactly state of the Art picture and sound excellence, at least on my set-up)it pretty much looked like Red Dwarf to me. Except Rimmer’s practically bald (aren’t holograms meant to … never mind).

Look at it like the fabled new series multi-Doctor story we’re never going to get: It wouldn’t be anywhere near as good as we’d want it to be, but wouldn’t we be thankful to get it!!!

well said. If the spoiler button was working I would post my thoughts here properly but I’ll give it a bit of time for people who may not have seen it.

Just some dude: they’re explaining Chris Barrie’s aging by saying that Rimmer hasn’t had the necessary hologramatic maintenance

I enjoyed it.  I missed the laugh track though.  It just didn’t feel right without it.  It would be cool if they commisioned a new series though.

I also enjoyed it but they should let it rest now. I for one didn’t see the despair/happiness squid thing coming. Let that be it’s swan song.

The opening to the story was touching and I thought the Coronation Street crossover thing was funny. I think it should porbably have only been two episodes rather than three because it dragged a little, though.

I liked the new episodes, but they lacked something (And not just the laughter track)
