Live Another Day makes its world debut in the US on May 5.April 27, 2014 at 5:36 am #185294
Not sure whether I’m looking forward to it or not (couldnt make it past episode one of season 8), although I’m very curious about the story behind Chloe’s new look…May 10, 2014 at 4:49 am #185752
Day 9: 11AM -1PM:
What a spectacular opening to Live Another Day.
Having originally appeared in 24 as Defence Secretary James Heller, William Devane is back for Live Another Day this time with Heller at the top as the US President. This is not first time that Devane has played the US President as he had done so in Stargate SG-1 & The Dark Knight Rises.
Kim Raver is also back as Heller’s daughter and Jack’s former lover who is now married to her father’s chief of Staff Mark Boudreau (Tate Donovan). Given Jack and Audrey’s history it not surprising that Mark has a disdain for Jack.
Playing CIA agent Kate Morgan is Yvonne Strahovski and she previously played a CIA agent in Chuck. Quite a brilliant deduction from Kate on Jack deliberately getting himself caught by the CIA. As it would be transpired Jack went into CIA London to rescue Chloe and that some hairstyle she has there.
Quite interesting how Kate is introduced here with the revelation of her husband the traitor and chasing Jack is her way of redeeming herself.
It is perhaps a little disappointing that Jack’s reason for rescuing Chloe had hardly to do with old times sake but for her help in finding Derek Yates (Joseph Millson, Alan Jackson in The Sarah Jane Adventures).
Stephen Fry plays the British Prime Minister perhaps it was something that was long time coming for him.
Another newcomer to 24 is Michelle Fairley whose character I am guessing had originally cast to Judy Davis before she dropped out for personal reasons.
I felt what happened to Derek Yates was coming at the last moment but what a revelation on who that girl turned out to be.May 13, 2014 at 10:28 pm #185924
Oh, how I’ve missed Chloe! Great to have her back. She is one of my favorite television characters. I like the new do, it suits her IMO.
You know what I’d like to see? A time line for 24. You think UNIT has issues…
For some people, small, beautiful events are what life is all about!May 18, 2014 at 2:17 am #186075
The television page of the Sydney Sunday Telegraph last week had an interview with Yvonne Strahovski on her role in 24: Live Another Day.
She says that she was not a fan of 24 prior to being cast in it and did binge-watching Days 1 and 8.
“Making 24 is like watching it; it moves really fast, it’s suspenseful, and the writing is great, it creates that fast-paced energy and I think that bleeds into our performances.”May 19, 2014 at 11:01 am #186125
Live Another Day
Day 9: 1PM-2PM:
Oh dear President Heller sure encounters a tough crowd when addressing British MPs.
Quite a scene that Jack makes in order to enter the embassy after his fake ID was deliberately botched.June 15, 2014 at 10:07 pm #187159
Live Another Day
Day 9: 4PM-5PM:
The Miranda Raison character calls MI5 and MI5 was Miranda Raison’s former place of employment in Spooks.
Quite tense the torture that Kate had to go through as part of the cover with Jack.
Oh my what a surprise at the end that Navarro turns out to be a traitor and it was he who framed Kate’s husband of being a traitor.June 22, 2014 at 10:22 pm #187360
Live Another Day
Day 9: 5PM-6PM:
Guest stars Shelley Conn.
Absolutely thrilling hour with the sequences in the hospital and then the drones chasing Jack, Kate and Simone.
Jordan sure got a nasty surprise at the dead-drop but luckily he survived.
Quite bizarre seeing President Heller and Margot having a one on one communication without no one else about.June 29, 2014 at 10:42 pm #187602
Live Another Day
Day 9: 6PM-7PM:
Bizarre seeing Jack and Mark cooperating with each other for delivering President Heller, of his own volition, to his death.
Sad that efforts to save President Heller could not be done on time as he got hit by the drone.July 14, 2014 at 12:30 pm #188231
Day 9: 9PM-10PM:
Somewhat disappointing that Cheng already knew of Jack’s presence in this situation but a surprise he has been working with the Russians.
Somehow I should not surprise that Cheng had been thought to be dead until now.
The inevitable has happened of Jack finding out Mark’s complicity with the Russians and in retrospect was not surprising that the plan involving Mark and the Russians went awry including Stolnavich dying in the process.
So knew that Audrey’s Chinese friend was going to be shot and killed as it ends this last conventional episode of Live Another Day as the finale is going to cram in the remaining 13 hours of Day 9.July 19, 2014 at 12:40 pm #188428

Episode 9 was terrific, I loved it when Jack whispered, “The Lannisters send their regards” just before he chucked Catelyn Stark out the window.July 21, 2014 at 1:37 pm #188488
Live Another Day
Day 9: 10PM-11AM:
What a shock that Audrey got killed just after Kate saved her from the sniper.
Jack sure showed how angry he is with Audrey’s death by the way he killed off some bad guys leaving Cheng for last and quite unusual that he chose to execute him by decapitation.
Mark is arrested and perhaps it is fortunate that Audrey was not alive to see this.
Now comes the issue of the expected time jump, most of this episode takes place between 10PM and 11PM. The time jump then occurs at 10:50AM, the last ten minutes of the 24 hours.
Given that this is 24 it seems somewhat unbelievable that the intervening 12 hours was relatively uneventful.
Day 9 ends with Jack giving himself up to the Russians in return for Chloe’s freedom and the safety of his family.
Good set-up for the next instalment of 24, if there is one.February 8, 2015 at 10:16 pm #205948
There was a 24 reference in Kingsman: The Secret Service.
This occurred when Eggsy (Taron Egerton) was asked by Arthur (Michael Caine) what the former had named his dog and Eggsy says it’s JB.
Arthur had two incorrect guesses of what JB stood for with the first James Bond and then Jason Bourne.
Eggsy then told him the correct answer and it’s Jack Bauer.March 5, 2015 at 11:42 am #207178
In 24, Mike Novick was played by Jude Ciccolella and I just finished The Manchurian Candidate (2004) and like 24, this movie takes place within a US presidential atmosphere.August 14, 2015 at 4:54 am #214810
Two of Jack Bauer’s lovers in 24 were played by Sarah Clarke and Annie Wersching.
Although they did not have anything to do with each other in 24 as they were seasons apart from each other, both however are now regulars in Bosch.
It is curious to note that while both were intimate with 24 lead character Jack Bauer, Sarah Clarke and Annie Wersching in Bosch has them formerly or currently intimate with the series title lead character.
In Bosch, Sarah Clarke plays Bosch’s ex-wife while Annie Wersching plays Bosch’s current girlfriend.
So funny how both were or are intimate with both Jack Bauer and Harry Bosch.
