The exclamation mark is mine but it might as well be there for this promises to be the ultimate bit of playground synergy smack down since, well, the Doctor and the Daleks.

According to his agency page Davies is listed as co-creator along with fellow SJA/Doctor Who alumni Phil Ford – while Bleeding Cool, quoting a BBC insider, also list Gareth Roberts and Joseph Lidster’s involvement in the twelve two-part half hour episodes.

What’s more the second series of this Wands Vs. Ray Guns showdown has already been commissioned by the BBC before the first series has been officially announced.

With precious little else to go on other than that awesome title it would be churlish to start saying it might be another case of Cowboys & Aliens – where two previous genres meet to almost universal yawns – so here’s hoping that Davies and his team more than deliver on that mouth-watering concept.

Aliens Vs. Wizards won’t be featured on Kasterborous, but our sister site Cult Britannia will be casting an eye over it from time to time…

The awards on November 27th will be up against the BBC’s Just William (the fourth television incarnation of Richmal Crompton’s William Brown series which was adapted by Amy’s Choice writer Simon Nye) Nickelodeon’s British/American/Belgian co-produced horror soap opera House of Anubis, and CBBC’S Combat Kids, a look at awkwardness of a family divided by the difficulties of military life.

As well as being given the nod in the drama category head writer Phil Ford (The Waters of Mars) was also nominated in the Writer category along with Simon Nye.

But that’s not all. Kids aged between 7-14 will be able to have their say about their favourite films, shows, websites and games in the BAFTA Kids Vote 2011, with The Sarah Jane Adventures leading a very strong TV shortlist. Voting is open now and will close on 25th November. The winners of each category will be presented their award by BAFTA’s special guests JLS.

Where some pod/video ‘casts can tend to be a bit on the dull side and tend not to capture interest too much, this is spot on and engaging!

Interesting discussion points include the length that an actor should stay in the role of the Doctor and who the eleventh Doctor’s next companion should be.

But show hosts Sean and Elisar don’t stop their offerings there, to provide the biggest bang for their proverbial buck the two show a fantastic interview with Frazer Hines (the Second Doctor’s companion Jamie) being as engaging and charismatic as ever.

But the real reason that you want to watch this is for the brilliant theme music that starts the show off. It’s a little retro and a little bit “early 1990’s” but it’s a glorious piece of work that has to be listened to!

After all, what else could you expect from a story called The Curse of Clyde Langer?

Alien investigator Sarah Jane Smith is back and in today’s episode some very unusual weather hits Bannerman Road.

It’s raining fish from the skies, and Sarah Jane’s investigations lead the gang to the Museum of Culture, where the ancient god Hetocumtek may offer answers.

But when Clyde acts the fool once too often, family and friends savagely turn against him, and he is thrown out of their lives!

Meanwhile, part two continues the story on Tuesday…

The curse of Clyde Langer continues in the second part of this gripping story from the award-winning The Sarah Jane Adventures.

In today’s episode, Clyde is alone and abandoned on the streets of London, living rough, cold and hungry. One person reaches out to him, but as they become friends, he’s warned about the legendary Night Dragon.

In Bannerman Road, Sky knows something’s wrong – why do Sarah Jane and Rani suddenly hate Clyde?

The Curse of Clyde Langer airs at 5.15 pm on CBBC on Monday and Tuesday.

The series stars the late Lis Sladen as Sarah Jane Smith, Daniel Anthony as Clyde Langer and Anjli Mohindra as Rani Chandra, with Sinaed Michael as Sky.

While the exact times for both have yet to be confirmed the BBC  has released synopses for each episode.

In Part One, Sarah Jane Smith (the late, great Elisabeth Sladen) finds a baby girl on her doorstep and tries to find out just who abandoned her, while at a nearby Nuclear Power Station, a beautiful woman appears out of thin air and uses her powers to take control. She’s looking for something, and Sarah may have just found it.

The adventure continues with Part Two, where Sky has undergone a major transformation but in doing so has placed the entire universe in jeopardy. As Sky and Sarah Jane find themselves trapped between an alien war fought by Metalkind and Fleshkind, Clyde (Daniel Anthony) and Rani (Anjli Mohindra) face a race against time to stop the biggest bang in history.

It’s with slight sadness that this release marks the last full series of The Sarah Jane Adventures to feature Elisabeth Sladen in every episode since her passing back in April. But in tribute to her brilliant portrayal of the character, thousands of new generation Doctor Who fans will be able to appreciate her in a classic Doctor Who adventure that they may have not yet seen.

The box set itself contains some cracking episodes, most notably Death of the Doctor. This not only features the first meeting between Sarah Jane and the Eleventh Doctor but also Sarah Jane and Jo Grant. It’s a cracking episode written by Russell T Davies and is well worth watching if you haven’t got round to it yet!

So, great Sarah Jane Adventures and two encounters with the Doctor himself in this great collection, out on Blu-ray and DVD.

The complete fourth series of The Sarah Jane Adventures will be released on October 31^st 2011 with the DVD version available for £12.99 while the Blu-ray release is a smashing £15.93

Taking Elisabeth’s completed draft and with the support of her husband Brian Miller and daughter, Sadie, Aurum Press will now publish Elisabeth’s memoirs this November, after postponing the book following Lis Sladen’s sad death.

Giving full account of her humble beginnings in post-war Liverpool, her joyful career in Theatre and her unexpected status as a TV icon and role model for generations of Doctor Who fans.

In the process the book explores the far from glamorous side of TV’s golden age, the strange world of Doctor Who fandom and just what it was like to step back onboard the TARDIS after 30 years away.

Elisabeth Sladen’s editor at Aurum, Sam Harrison, said:

“I remember my first meeting with Elisabeth—the hilarious and eye-opening stories she had to tell and my feeling of elation that she wanted to turn them into a book. Having grown up watching her as Sarah Jane Smith it was a personal dream come true.

She was a fantastic person to work with—fun but utterly professional—and it’s incredibly sad that she’s no longer with us. I’m glad she had a chance to share some of her memories in this book. I hope it will make a fitting tribute to a great actress and a wonderful woman.”

Elisabeth Sladen: The Autobiography will be published on Monday 7th November and retail at £20.

On the plus side, we now know the names of all three remaining stories and the identities of their two writers several months in advance thanks to comments from executive producer Russell T. Davies in the most recent Doctor Who Magazine.  They are as follows:

Bittersweet as we’re sure they’ll be to watch, we can’t help but be excited by the italicized words in the list above, and we’re glad to see that both Ford and Roberts, two SJA-experienced writers, are the scribes behind the final tales.

That’s not the only good news… in addition to series regulars Elisabeth Sladen (Sarah Jane Smith, of course), Daniel Anthony (Clyde Langer), and Anjli Mohindra (Rani Chandra) appearing in every story, Tommy Knight (Luke Smith), will be back for The Man Who Wasn’t There, which means that, in the words of RTD,

“…the gang’s all together at the end.”

As Whovians awaiting an end-of-an-era that none of us wanted to see, that’s all we can ever ask for.

The six half-hour installments will be broadcast on CBBC and BBC One in the autumn.

Included is a cartoon tribute to Elizabeth Sladen capturing her likeness in both her The Sarah Jane Adventures garb and her Andy Pandy overals from The Hand of Fear – the first two parts of which air tonight on BBC Four as a tribute to the late, great companion.

To celebrate the launch of the new series Dean has converted all the main players from the USA two parter including a bearded Doctor, two cute as buttons pictures of Amy Pond, Mr Rory Williams and enigmatic River Song .
