Watch How These Teens React To Doctor Who!

Many of us have friends and family that don’t understand our obsessions. Before I came to the Whoniverse, I was part of another worldwide fandom, one that many people in my life didn’t understand. And no matter how many times or ways I could think of to introduce them to the subject, they were never as into it a I was.

Have you ever tried to show someone who just didn’t understand about Doctor Who what the show was about? Do you have someone who sort of knows the basics about the show, but still doesn’t get why you watch and love it?

In the little video gem above, that somehow we’ve missed since it was posted back before the 50th anniversary, YouTubers  The Fine Bros showed a group of teenagers the trailers for the anniversary episode and filmed their reactions. Some of them were obviously fans, some only had a vague knowledge of the show, and others didn’t know the show at all.

The teens were also asked to try to identify certain things from the show, like the TARDIS, the sonic screwdriver, and the Doctor. For the record, I think calling the sonic a magic wand is pretty darned funny.

We also have a bonus delete reaction video for you as well. Watch through to the end for the funniest bit (even if it is a bit juvenile…)

Rebecca is new to the Who world, having only recently watched the entire new series in a span of 8 days. She is no stranger to sci-fi though, being a life long Trekkie and has vague memories of seeing the 4th Doctor on US television as a child. When not watching, reading, blogging, or talking about Doctor Who, she is a fan of pop culture and loves movies and books so much she has to keep a list of both so she doesn't forget any of them. She also likes to make attempts at various forms of art including photography and painting. Rebecca is currently working her way through as many classic serials and as many books related to the show that she can find and wishes she could have been with the Doctor and Amy when they met Van Gogh.
