It’s always nice to see different incarnations of the good Doctor getting along. Canadian Community newspaper site, NiagaraThisWeek.com has featured an interview with Seventh Doctor, Sylvester McCoy in anticipation of the Niagara Falls Comic Con next month at the Scotiabank Convention Centre.
He talked about the experience of filming the Hugo-nominated film The Five(ish) Doctors Reboot with his co-stars. The half-hour spoof about Classic era Doctors conspiring to have a role in the 50th Anniversary special, Day of the Doctor featured McCoy alongside Fifth Doctor, Peter Davison and Sixth Doctor, Colin Baker with appearances from three other Doctors and a host of Who-related celebrities.
It was great fun. We’ve all know each other over the years professionally. I worked with Peter on stage shows and Colin I’ve known from conventions and stuff. It was like a home movie. It was all because of Peter Davison’s brilliance. He wrote it, he directed it he edited it, he produced it. He did a wonderful job of it.
He certainly did. If you’ve not seen it you can catch it below – it’s a warm and self-deprecating celebration with a huge sense of humour, and definitely worth watching again, right now.
Sylvester also commented on his casting as the Doctor and working on The Hobbit. Read the rest of the interview at www.niagarathisweek.com.
