Frank Skinner guests in Doctor Who Series 8

Skinner Misses Son’s Birthday for Doctor Who Appearance

As we all know, comedian Frank Skinner has landed a role in Series 8 of Doctor Who… “But at what cost, I wonder…?”

Well, it turns out he will have to miss his son Buzz’s birthday if he is to make the filming dates!

In an interview with Absolute Radio, Skinner said:

“I thought about being in Doctor Who about every four-and-a-half minutes years before this happened! However, I’m afraid I’ve gone deep into ‘bad dad’ territory, because in order to be in Doctor Who, one of the filming days is Buzz’s birthday. So I’m having to miss it.”

The star also revealed that he had previously missed Buzz’s first steps, as he was attending a screening of Remembrance of the Daleks! That said, hopefully all will be forgiven when he makes his debut alongside Peter Capaldi later in the year, which he is overjoyed about…

“I was in Nando’s when I got the phone call to say that I had got the part. I went outside and there were loads of people around, it was a sunny day… I’m on the phone and he was telling me that I got the Doctor Who job and I did a football volley mime, a really big one.”

I think that’s a completely justifiable reaction given the circumstances…! Let’s face it, little Buzz is going to get quite a surprise when his dad turns up in Doctor Who

Look out for Frank Skinner in Series 8 of Doctor Who, which is due to materialise in Autumn.
