Haven’t Caught Dark Eyes 2 Yet? Time To See What You’ve Been Missing…

Given the successful teaming of Paul McGann and Ruth Bradley for the 2012 mini series Dark Eyes, it was somewhat inevitable that the World War One nurse would return to the world of Doctor Who.

This happened earlier this year in Dark Eyes 2, released in February. If you’re not up to speed on this, it’s time to enjoy the trailer above and read the following synopsis

When the Doctor defeated the Dalek Time Controller and its Time Lord ally, the timelines shifted and events changed… but the danger is far from over. And new threats to the continued safety of the universe are emerging.

Molly O’Sullivan carried on with her life as a nursing assistant in World War One. She probably thought she would never see the Doctor in his ‘Tardy-box’ again…

From the Dalek occupied planet Nixyce VII through Earth’s history and to the very edge of the universe, the Doctor’s footprints across eternity are being tracked by foes old and new. But when did it all begin and when will it end? Living his life through the complexities of time travel, the Doctor can never be quite sure if he’s experiencing his life in the most helpful order.
The only certainty appears to be the advance of the powers of evil and the oncoming threat of a fight to the death against forces that would destroy everything the Doctor holds dear.

So, what are you waiting for? After all, Dark Eyes 3 is currently in production

I bought this last week. I loved the first Dark Eyes, and having listened to the first two stories in this collection I’m happy to say it’s not let me down yet. Better than the TV show of late IMHO.

Wouldn’t it be great if Big Finish could release an animated version of these stories on DVD? I’d buy them!

Have very much enjoyed Black Eyes 1 and 2. Always loved Paul in the Big Finish Doctor Who stories. There was a time when via BF he was the only true new Who. Ironically with reference to Lozzer’s dig at the TV show they have mostly felt closer to the TV show most of us will always love, than some of the others. Mostly fast moving adventure stories. Dark Eyes is a little darker (a fan term for better!) but for those like me who don’t need it to be dark to prove we have at last grown up, when let’s face it, I never will. They are still full of fun, good writing and good characters.
There is so much good stuff on Big Finish it is hard to keep up. Slightly off topic if Colin was not your favourite Doctor on TV , check him out on BF he is so, so good.
