Doctor Who Joins Radio 4 Character Invasion Day!

How do they create the effects that make each episode of Doctor Who so special?

Interested fans and friends can find out on March 29th, as special effects guru Neill Gorton puts on a workshop at the Doctor Who studios in Cardiff. The workshop is a very special event that is tied in to Radio 4’s Character Invasion Day.

A short article in the Radio Times states:

“Neill Gorton, director of Bafta-winning Millenium FX, will provide an insight into how some of the best-loved monsters and aliens from Doctor Who and Russell T Davies’s Wizards vs Aliens are created.”

It sounds like a great way to spend a Saturday!  And if you can’t make it to Cardiff, there are several other Character Invasion Day planned for different cities, although they probably won’t have much to do with our favorite Time Lord.

As the Radio Times says:

“For more information about Radio 4’s Character Invasion Day, including events in Belfast and Glasgow, visit bbc.co.uk/programmes/CharacterInvasion.”

So, Kasterborites, are you going to the Doctor Who studios for a behind-the-scenes look at how the magic is made?

Drew has been a fan of Doctor Who ever since he flipped through the channels late one night and saw a girl blowing up an army of funny robot men with nothing but a slingshot and some old coins. He currently lives somewhere in the woods of Missouri with his beautiful wife Barbara.
