This is music to our ears – Silva Screen have been nominated for an award from the International Film Music Critics Association!
The recognition comes after its hugely successful release of Doctor Who: The 50th Anniversary Celebration, which features 129 tracks cherry-picked from the series’ rich history, including contributions from Brian Hodgson, Dudley Simpson and Murray Gold. The four-disc album has now been nominated in the ‘Best Archival Release of an Existing Score – Compilation’ category, facing competition from the Lethal Weapon Soundtrack Compilation, (with tracks by Eric Clapton), and The X Files: Volume 2 set.
For anybody currently on the edge of their seat – or behind the sofa – you won’t have long to find out the result. The winner will be announced on February 20th, and we’ll be keeping everything crossed for a Who victory .
In the meantime, if you fancy indulging in some retro tunes, the box set is still available to buy. Amazon has Doctor Who: The 50th Anniversary Collection listed for a bargainous £11.83 – don’t miss out!
