The Valeyard in Midsomer!

Former Doctor Who villain Michael Jayston guest starred in this week’s Midsomer Murders on ITV, potentially a victim of a murderous plan not far removed from the machinations of the Doctors’s dark side, the Valeyard!

Of course, we won’t tell you what happened right here just in case you want to watch it. Spoilers, etc.

However it was certainly good to hear the deep, rich tones of Jayston on TV again, and while his face now reflects his age, there’s no mistaking the twinkle in his eye! Also appearing are Rebecca Front (as a money-grabbing female vicar) and Roy Hudd, joining Neil Dudgeon and newcomer Gwilym Lee as Sgt Charlie Nelson.

Two hours long, the latest Midsomer Murders episode “Let Us Prey” can still be enjoyed on ITV Player, and you can get a taste for it via the trailer above. If you’re a fan of Jayston, we’d recommend a watch!
