Doctor Who News Doctor Who continues: Peter Capaldi is the Twelfth Doctor

A New Era of Doctor Who Enters Production!

The Doctor is dead. Long live the Doctor. Today marks a brand new era for Doctor Who as production commences on Peter Capaldi’s first block of episodes.

Whether attracted by the sound of VFX explosions or a network of sign spotters looking for notices concerning filming in South Wales, fans have been performing tracking skills that would put the NSA to shame.

What this means, of course, is that in the next few days we’re surely going to be treated to a look at the Twelfth Doctor in all of his new-look splendour.

New outfit sightings have been claimed on Twitter, but no photos. This isn’t a huge surprise as apparently the first block is for the first three episodes and unusually episode one of Series 8 is currently going before cameras.

But hey, what’s the rush? The new look will be along soon…

Cant wait to see the blurry photos, followed by video with bad audio,,,, It is exciting the way it builds like that. I truly enjoy the first few batch of photos when you have to try and figure out who’s who, and make some sense as to what is going on.

I love when, in the first few episodes, you start matching up the photos of what you saw to what actually ended up on screen.

Odd part is,,,, I browsed to Kasterborous today to see if anyone knew when filming would start and the “leaks” would begin.

We might get an official picture this week then, production often like to beat the press and fans at their own game.

I’m very very curious to see where Capaldi and co. goes with the fashion.

I’m looking forward to seeing the new outfit,I hope he wears a long black or grey trench coat of some sort and suit underneath.

  5. TimeChaser says:

I hope they’ll do a press photo shoot, if they are starting filming with Ep 1 rather than further in to the season as they’ve done in the past. I can’t wait any longer!

I also vote for the suit-and-trench-coat combination.

  6. DonnaM says:

They’re taking a risk not issuing an official photo before the shoot started, bearing in mind that the production seems dangerously leak-prone at times…

Or that could just be me trying to rationalise my impatience!

  7. Ranger says:

I think the suit and trench coat look will be too similar to the 10th Doctor (or whatever number he now is!). But I’m hoping for a modern look, rather than the Edwardian look.

  8. vortexter says:

I hope the cast and crew wrapped up well when filming. It’s wet and windy in South Wales today. Incidentally, Splott in Cardiff rhymes with dot, but the posh locals say ‘Splott’ as in Snow…
