Framed Oil Painting by Second Doctor Who Patrick Troughton

It’s not often that we hear about the other talents of Doctor Who‘s stars. While it is common knowledge that Matt Smith was a promising footballer before injury turned his attention to acting, few new of Patrick Troughton’s ability with a paint brush.

Painted by the Second Doctor, the oil painting above is a good copy of an old master, framed and signed and measures 41.5cm by 28.5cm. Currently available on eBay, it apparently comes with a letter of authenticity signed by Patrick’s son, David Troughton.

Further examples of Patrick’s painting can be found on his second son Michael’s website

Very very nice. I can’t access David’s site though: Forbidden access. I’m 2 for 2.

    • Fixed the link. Odd URL, but it works.

It looks like a very good painting! So Troughton and Capaldi are both good artists…are any other Doctors good at art, too?

I see that the current bid is £800 with 5 days to go and the reserve isn’t even met. Hmm, much as I am devoted to Troughton, I don’t think the husband will let me bid for this. New tyres for the car come first, dammit!
