Dr. Who Fannual Now Available!

Yes, dear readers, it is in fact Dr. Who, as opposed to Doctor Who, in this instance! Fans of Peter Cushing’s incarnation of the Doctor, this is for you!

The folks at Fannnual have been working feverishly to produce an annual solely dedicated to Peter Cushing’s Doctor, and their hard work is now available. Simply titled, The Dr. Who Fannual, the book collects fan submitted stories, anchored by detailed character guidelines, expanding the brief universe set for by Cushing’s only two outings in the role, Dr. Who and the Daleks and Daleks Invasion Earth – 2150 A.D.

The book is available in different colours and in both paperback and hard cover. It can be purchased by visiting their website. You can also get in on some pretty great Facebook competitions as well, as they have already handed out copies of the Cushing films on Blu-ray and limited editions of the Fannual.

FANNUAL Yellow Hardcover Front Cover

There appears to be a resurgence in interest in the Cushing incarnation, especially with Steven Moffat recently chatting about failed plans to bring the Cushing films into the Whoniverse proper. What say you, Kasterborites? Are you interested in reading further adventures with the Cushing Doctor?

About the Author

“That’s bacon! Are you trying to poison me?” And from that line on, I’ve been unable to stop watching, reading, musing about the Doctor. As a recent transplant to the Whoniverse, I’ve been trying to soak up as much Who-related knowledge as possible. That journey has taken me from the Tenth Planet to the Fields of Trenzalore and gently set me at the edge of my seat for what’s next. It’s an honor to be here and I plan to bring a unique perspective. I hope you’ll enjoy the journey alongside me.

I certainly am!! Love this initiative. ..

A genuine annual would have dozens of pages about Jodrell Bank and ‘What will the world be like in 25 years?’ Hoping this one has that!

A great idea for those who like the movies. It’s a shame that the other stories are not similarly more childlike retellings of TV stories – that could have made for some great sillyness. Don’t actually rate the Cushing Movies myself – I think most of the fondness for them is gleaned simply because of nostalgia rather than because they were actually any good. But each to their own…
