Former Doctor Who star Paul McGann

Doctor Who #8 Paul McGann Set For Bournemouth SF Ball

Paul McGann really must be a Time Lord.  Since the 50th anniversary, he’s been seen onscreen in The Night of the Doctor and The Five(-ish) Doctors Reboot, can be heard on the continuing Big Finish audio adventures, appeared at the ChicagoTARDIS convention in December (hey, I was there!), and will be appearing at the Gallifrey One 2014 con very soon.

Heck, I put in a DVD the other night (Vampire Killers) and he was in that, too!

On the weekend of February 7-9, however, McGann will be at the Bournemouth SF Ball.  He will be attending the convention, which takes place at the Carrington House Hotel, on Friday night and Saturday only.  Advance tickets for Friday night and the weekend are sold out, but there will be a few tickets available at the entrance for Saturday and Sunday.

Someone must have been reading my dreams (I’ve got my eye on you, Dream Lord!), as Sophie Aldred (the Seventh Doctor’s companion, Ace) and Red Dwarf‘s Chris Barrie (Arnold J. Rimmer) will be also there.  Maybe Ace will provide the Eighth Doctor with some Nitro-9?  Others attending the SF Ball include Star Trek‘s lovely Marina Sirtis (Counselor Troi) and Paul Blake (Greedo from Star Wars).

Celebrating its 20th year, the fan-run Bournemouth SF Ball is all for a good cause, as it benefits the Teenage Cancer Trust.  So, if you’re in the area on the weekend of February 8-9 and can grab a ticket, it is definitely worth going.

I know if I had my own TARDIS, I would be there for sure!

Kasterborites, are any of you attending the Ball?  And where in the world would you like to see dashing Paul McGann pop up next?

About

Drew has been a fan of Doctor Who ever since he flipped through the channels late one night and saw a girl blowing up an army of funny robot men with nothing but a slingshot and some old coins. He currently lives somewhere in the woods of Missouri with his beautiful wife Barbara.
