Doctor Who News The Time of the Doctor

What Time Is The Time Of The Doctor On?

BBC One has confirmed its Christmas Day schedule, with Doctor Who end-of-an-era The Time of the Doctor scheduled for 7.30pm!

Matt Smith’s final appearance has all the hallmarks of an epic adventure, and with direction from Jamie Payne and a title from Steven Moffat that suggests the end of a loose trilogy, the introduction of Peter Capaldi should prove to be one of the series’ most memorable moments.

At the moment it is only the BBC One screening that is confirmed, although it would seem likely that BBC One HD will follow the same schedule.

We’ll have some fresh new images from the episode later this week.

Good. Maybe DOTD has finally convinced the BBC that DW needs to be on in prime time, not late afternoon if they want the ratings.

Hear hear! I can’t even begin to understand why they spend so much time and money writing, casting and making such a high quality programme then virtually always slap it on TV at a time so early in the evening. Yes it’s a family show but it’s not Basil Brush. A 7:30 slot everytime would be perfectly respectable….and don’t get me on the season it’s shown in. The amount of times ive sat watching Doctor Who in shorts with the curtains pulled to block the sunlight, or while I’m tending a BBQ…wrong, wrong, wrong! I mean really can you imagine what your memories would be like if Talons of Weng Chiang had been broadcast in July?

What about BBC America? Or will I be torrenting this immediately?

    • Unusually BBC America are late with confirmation. Given recent history, however, it seems unlikely it will be on a different day…

Thanks guys! Guess I have my Christmas plans set. I’m gonna miss Matt Smith, but can’t wait to see the new Doctor!

They have now confirmed for Christmas Day at 9pm EST/8pm CST
