BBC Releases New Christmas Special Photos

Les than a week away from Christmas and the BBC has released a pair of new photos from The Time of the Doctor, revealing, we’re surprised to say, a bit too much – well, in a sense, anyway.

There is no way to accurately gauge just where these images – featuring Matt Smith and Jenna Coleman as the Doctor and Clara – come in the scheme of things: we’ll just have to hope that – well, I think you’ll see what I mean.

You can, of course, avoid viewing these photo, by not clicking the spoiler box below…

Matt Smith makes way for Peter Capaldi in The Time of the Doctor on BBC One and BBC HD at 7.30pm and BBC America at 9/8c on Christmas Day. Hurrah!

A different kind of fish stick. A different kind of custard.

Why don’t we ever get to see Jenna this way? Or why didn’t we get to see Karen, or Billie (well in her case we did, albeit on a very different show) like that? Whether it’s Tennant or Smith, it’s always the Doctor who gets up to this stuff. Where’s the equality in that? Enough nude Doctors, it’s time for a nude female companion!

    • Re: Jenna… http://www.kasterborous.com/2012/12/top-10-most-popular-doctor-who-articles-of-2012/ scroll down to number 1….

      • Bob James says:

Yes, I had seen that! How could I forget? Quite nice. That leaves Karen as the odd woman out. Let’s get a move on Karen!

        • Al says:

Well, Karen is topless, sort of, in Guardians of the Galaxy. No hair, y’see. ;)

  3. SMBComix says:

My girlfriend will be somewhat thrilled. And we’ll both probably be laughing.

  4. Bob James says:

And Ten and Eleven were just “whipping them out” and comparing in TDOTD, weren’t they?

  5. Bob James says:

Now just where had the Doctor placed that mistletoe?

  6. Al says:

Apparently there is a good reason for it, but I’m looking forward to hearing what Clara is saying and whether she’s laughing or not. By the way, I think this leaves Rose and Martha the only companions who haven’t seen the Doctor in the buff, as Donna saw the clone nekked in Journeys End and Amy took a peek in Eleventh Hour…

    • BOJAY says:

She’s probably saying, “Now that Sonic definitely does wood!”

  7. dr jon says:

I wonder if he is another human clone of the dr ?

    • vortexter says:

I did wonder if the cane-twirling figure in silhouette with the silence in the background is not the Doctor but the Cyber-Doctor from Nightmare in Silver but in flesh form?

  8. vortexter says:

I don’t remember this much fuss for the Third Doctors shower scene…

  9. dr jon says:

The cybermen did take all the information about regeneration from the dr from Nightmare in silver they may have cloned him in some way? And your right about the fuss, matt hasn’t even got a tattoo.

    • vortexter says:

Which may explain how the Doctor get’s around the issue of no more regenerations. Perhaps the Cybermen have the solution…

  10. dr jon says:

That is what i thought vortexer,i mentioned the idea a few week ago, we may be on to something here. I think the cybermen will be a big part in the regeneration some how.And the cyberman head which is shown in the photo’s is seen a lot. Hidden in plain sight.

    • vortexter says:

I like the way your mind works dr jon. We’re all assuming the Daleks, Cybermen et all are out to annihilate the Doctor and gloat at his death. But what if they have greater plans for our favorite Timelord? After all, they caught him fair and square in the underhenge but they didn’t kill him, they just contained him.
