Tennant And Colman Top Awards And Reveal What Could Have Been

David Tennant and Olivia Colman are award winners!

Tennant and Colman both won the Crime Writers Association Dagger Award for their work on ITV’s hit series Broadchurch.

The acclaimed series was up for a total of four nominations at the Spacesavers Crime Thriller Awards 2013. Along with the wins by Tennant and Colman, their co-star Andrew Buchan won for his role on the show. Broadchurch also took the Dagger for best television show.

Broadchurch is set to be released on Blu-ray in the UK on 4th November. As part of their commentary for the discs, David Tennant has reveled that he and Colman almost worked together on a sitcom some 10 years ago, but that the show was never made:

“We’d done a reading of a sitcom that a friend of mine wrote. Had that gone ahead, we’d have been husband and wife. But lots of creatives came and said they didn’t want to make it.”

A second season of Broadchurch is currently in development and is scheduled to begin shooting sometime in 2014, and David Tennant has also signed on to be part of a remake currently in development in the US with Fox.

About the Author

Rebecca is new to the Who world, having only recently watched the entire new series in a span of 8 days. She is no stranger to sci-fi though, being a life long Trekkie and has vague memories of seeing the 4th Doctor on US television as a child. When not watching, reading, blogging, or talking about Doctor Who, she is a fan of pop culture and loves movies and books so much she has to keep a list of both so she doesn't forget any of them. She also likes to make attempts at various forms of art including photography and painting. Rebecca is currently working her way through as many classic serials and as many books related to the show that she can find and wishes she could have been with the Doctor and Amy when they met Van Gogh.
