Cartmel at Alabama’s Con Kasterborous

Con Kasterborous – the convention with the awesomest name in the known universe – has added none other than Andrew Cartmel to its line-up of guests.Andrew Cartmel

Cartmel is best known to Doctor Who fans as the show’s script editor during the Seventh Doctor’s time in the rockin’ 1980s. He has also gone on to be involved in many very cool Who-related projects through the years, as described on the con’s bio page:

“(Cartmel) has continued to have an association with Doctor Who in its spin-off media ranging from comic strips in Doctor Who Magazine to novels for both the Virgin New Adventures and BBC Past Doctor Adventures ranges. He returned to the role of Script Editor for four stories of Big Finish Productions’ Doctor Who: The Lost Stories range which presented the stories that would have been the show’s twenty-seventh season in 1990.”

Andrew Cartmel’s appearance at Con K will be a reunion of sorts, as the scheduled guest of honor is none other than the Seventh Doctor himself, Sylvester McCoy. McCoy, when not picketing 50th Anniversary Specials or doing The Minister of Chance, will also be starring in two more upcoming Hobbit films. Other guests of Con Kasterborous include comic book artist Kelly Yates and writer-artist Lady Soliloque.

Con K will be held June 28-29, 2014 at the be-yoo-tee-ful Westin hotel in Huntsville, Alabama, USA! As always, further details such as pricing, directions, and accommodations can be viewed on their site. You can also find more information on their Facebook page (“Con Kasterborous“) as well.

7th Doctor

So, if you are planning on visiting northern Alabama next summer, why not drop by for a reunion of the Seventh Doctor and his former script editor? Surely they have some tales to tell!

But seriously, even though we both share a love for the Doctor’s home constellation, Con Kasterborous and Kasterborous are not affiliated in any way.
