Paul McGann Confirmed for Comic Con

The Eighth Doctor will be a guest at this year’s London Film and Comic Con, it has been confirmed.

Paul McGann will join a host of other Doctor Who guests, including companions Sarah Sutton, Bonnie Langford and Richard Franklin, as well as Karen Gledhill (Alison Williams from Remembrance of the Daleks), and Dick Mills of the Radiophonic Workshop.

The London Film and Comic Con, which is the second of 2013, will take place in the Olympia Grand Hall on the 5th and 6th of October, with the Eighth Doctor in attendance on the Sunday. Keen fans will be given the opportunity to meet Mr McGann for an autograph and photo, and maybe learn the answer to an age-old question, hidden in plain sight: what does a Beryllium chip actually do?

Perhaps not. But, just in case, you can book your tickets for the event on the LFCC website.

I wonder if someone will get him to drop a line about the 50th. He’s told someone on his Twitter feed that if they put their money on him appearing, then they’ve lost it. It looks like Paul’s focused on the 60th anniversary.

For one brief, shining moment, I read “Paul McGann confirmed…” and I thought this was going to be the best article of the year.

Moffat has definitely missed a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity if McGann does not appear in the 5oth! I still hope he and Eccleston appear. Rule 1: Moffat lies!

  3. avatar Scott says:

I’m hoping for a mini episode priorvtonthe 50th which shows McGann regenerating into the John Hurt “Doctor.”

Technically then McGann is being truthful – he’s not in the special itself.

  4. avatar Christopher Roberts says:

You’d think I’d be used to this by now. Any time there’s a rumour doing the rounds my Doctor will appear – it always comes to nothing. :(

  5. avatar B Martin says:

Paul McGann was good, he should be in the 50th, but is not. The BBC books were good though.

  6. avatar B Martin says:

Just like the new doctor I used send letters to Doctor Who magazine. It’s about time we had an old Doctor. Let’s have a follow up to Battlefield!
