RTD Daleks

Will Rightful Rulers Exterminate Heir?

Today is the day in which the Prince of Wales and his consort the Duchess of Cornwall visit Roath Lock in South Wales to visit the Doctor Who set as part of the show’s 50th anniversary!

RTD Daleks

Stars Matt Smith and Jenna Coleman, showrunner Steven Moffat and various crew members (such as the show’s costume designer, storyboard artist, locations manager, graphics artist, set decorator and production designer), will be in attendance to greet the heir to the throne, who will be shown around the Doctor Who production office and taken to the TARDIS set.

As befits a member of the royal family, Charles will then be introduced to the iconic monsters of Doctor Who’s 50 years, such as a Weeping Angel, a Cyberman, an Ood and of course the Daleks, with whom his father has a lot in common. Dalek voice artist Nicholas Briggs will also be on hand, and the Prince and the Duchess will later receive a demonstration of video FX in using the green screen method. Various departmental displays have been prepared for the royal visit, and the couple will meet some hand-chosen Skillset apprentices who are training at Roath Lock.

No doubt we’ll have some interesting scenes on the BBC news later today!
