Watch the Doctor Who Prom!

Where you one of the many fans able to make it the Royal Albert Hall for last night’s Doctor Who Prom? If so, you may not have been witness to the unveiling of the Twelfth Doctor, but you will however have seen a musical spectacular celebrating 50 years of time travelling music and sound FX!

If you didn’t see it, you’ll be able to catch it on BBC One soon, but in the meantime, you can either head to the official page for Saturday night’s performance (a repeat run is being performed this evening) and listen via iPlayer get in the mood first with these video clips!

Among those appearing on stage were the newly shorn Matt Smith, Jenna-Louise “call me Jenna” Coleman and Neve McIntosh and Dan Starkey as Vastra and Strax.

And hey, who cares if they didn’t announce the new Doctor? Was a pretty dumb place to be doing it anyway…

  1. Why would it be a dumb place? It was a Doctor Who event that was being streamed around the World Live on the radio? Sounds like a great chance to unveil the new Doctor.

    • Because Doctor Who is primarily a TV show, and this was a radio broadcast. Only the people in the venue would “see” the unveiling.

Agreed. Remember they unveiled Matt Smith by way of a national TV broadcast. Sadly, Confidential is no more so they might not be able to do that again, or maybe they might throw something together anyway.

The repeat performance was this morning not this evening and I’d take ‘soon’ with a huge pinch of salt, try in 4 to 5 months time.

My guess is it will air around the time of the anniversary.

I think the conductor in the “classic” Doctor Who medley should be the 12th.

Any clips of the mini-episode they showed prior to Matt and Jenna appearing? And what about Vastra and Strax?
