The time is fast approaching for the finale of the current series of Doctor Who, an episode that seems to be (if the trailer is anything to go by…) a mini tribute to the show’s 50 years.

Of course, we know little about The Name of the Doctor (mainly because we haven’t been looking for spoilers!) but what we do know is that it is written by Steven Moffat, features the return of River Song, Madame Vastra, Commander Strax and Jenny Flint, and Richard E. Grant’s personified Great Intelligence, and a new enemy, the Whispermen.

Clara is summoned to an impossible conference call, alerting her that the deadly Whisper Men are closing in on Vastra, Jenny and Strax. Someone is kidnapping the Doctor’s friends, leading him toward the one place in all of time and space that he should never go. It’s a deadly trap that threatens to unravel his past, present and future…

And now, for the last time until November, here is the gallery… but don’t look if you want to be COMPLETELY spoiler free…

The Doctor Who Series 7 finale The Name of the Doctor airs at 7pm on Saturday, May 18th at 7pm on BBC One and BBC HD, and at 8 ET on BBC America.

That chair that Clara’s sitting on looks exactly like the ones from the Gallifrey scenes from The End Of Time.

What is it with Moffat and the word “impossible”?

In series 6 we had the Impossible Astronaut.

This series Clara keeps being referred to as the Impossible Girl.

Now Clara is being Clara is summoned to an impossible conference call!!

if you look t he missing piece of the jigsaw puzzle with the starfield you see a red double star. Gallifrey orbits a binary star.
