Could Roger Moore Be “Wonderful” in Doctor Who?

Doctor Who writer Mark Gatiss was innocently tweeting his affection for a particular movie starring Roger Moore this week when the unthinkable happened: 007 got in touch…

Roger Moore to guest in Doctor Who Series 8?It’s remarkable to think that an 85 year old should be active on Twitter, and the rexponse clearly made Gatiss’ day…

What do you think? Could Roger Moore be wonderful? Or has Timothy Dalton got the Whoniverse appearances of former James Bonds all sewn up?

  1. Let’s get ALL the Bonds! They could play different past incarnations of the corsair! :D

Or past incarnations of Rassilon …

    Sean Connery IS The Rani!

Shurely shome mistake. Roger would be a shight for shore eyesh.

Thumbs up from me for casting Sir Roger and his incredible acting eyebrows. I keep meaning to get his autobiography, I’ve heard it’s very good.

Is that Twitter account the genuine thing? There are Twits who pretend to be actors etc. If genuine, I say bring it on!

  5. avatar Al says:

I’d have no complaints of Roger appeared on either show!

‘Aaaaah! Well…anything’s possible!’ (That’s my dire Sir Roger Moore impression out of the way)
It’s great to think that such luminaries of the silver screen would love a role in Dr Who. Perhaps he could play an ageing Timelord or suchlike. I still think we missed a trick by not having Sir Lawrence Olivier as the mutant in ‘Revelation of the Daleks’. Sir Roger, if your reading, we want you in our show too! Get your people to call our people and we’ll do lunch.

    • Sir Roger, if your reading…

Yeh, he tunes into the podKast too – he’s our “listener”.

      • avatar vortexter says:

Have you only got just the one?…

        • No, over a thousand, I’m pleased to report.

It’s a running joke that we only have one listener. :)

We could then recast the 8th Doctor and get George Lazenby to play him… kind of proving Paul McGann’s comment about himself.

  8. avatar Paddt says:

    Roger Moore for the Master.

Sean Connery to play Rashillon. Or the Corshair. Or shomething with an “esh” in it. Oh! Borusha.

Pierce Brosnan to play a Mike Yates-type character.

Timothy Dalton as whichever of the Time Lords listed under Connery don’t get played by him. He should probably get first dibs at Rassilon. Actually, I’m thinking Connery for the Corsair. “I’m the Corshair! I ushed to be a lady! Ridiculoush!”

    Daniel Craig as an Auton.

    George Lazenby as the Jagrafess.

  9. avatar drvwho says:

timothy dualton has already played rassilon in the end of time????

    • avatar heikoc says:

Timelords sometimes look alike. Like commander Maxell looked like the sixth doctor.

  10. avatar zarbisupremo says:

IIRC, Pierce Brosnan was considered for the part of Maxil.
