Alastair Reynolds Signs Harvest of Time

Award winning Sci-Fi author Alastair Reynolds will be reading from and signing Doctor Who: The Harvest of Time – the brand new, spellbinding Third Doctor novel – at the Forbidden Planet Bristol Megastore on Thursday 6th June from 6 – 7pm.

Doctor Who: Harvest of Time by Alastair Reynolds

In the novel, the Doctor is called to investigate a mysterious incident on a North Sea drilling platform but no sooner has the investigation begun, something stranger begins to take hold: The Brigadier is starting to forget about UNIT’s highest-profile prisoner. And he is not alone in his amnesia.

Meanwhile across the galaxy, the vicious Sild have broken out of confinement. From a ruined world at the end of time, they make preparations to conquer the past, with the ultimate goal of rewriting history. But to achieve their aims they will need to enslave an intellect greater than their own…

As the Sild invasion begins, the Doctor faces a terrible dilemma. To save the universe, he must save his arch-nemesis… The Master.

Before becoming a full time writer Alastair Reynolds gained a PhD in astronomy and worked as an astrophysicist for the European Space Agency.

His books include Revelation Space (shortlisted for the BSFA and Arthur C. Clarke Awards), Chasm City (winner of the BSFA Award), House of Suns (shortlisted for the Arthur C. Clarke Award), Terminal World, and Blue Remembered Earth.

About the Author

Everyone has a favourite Doctor and mine - just for his honesty, his fairness and his ability to not notice the Master's awful, awful disguises/anagrams (Sir Gilles Estram!?!) - has to be the Fifth Doctor, Peter Davison. The stories didn’t serve him as well as his acting served those stories.

Excellent – I always look forward to these high-profile authored Who novels.

Sorry to lower the tone, but I’m sure I can’t be the only one who thinks that ship on the front cover looks particularly… phallic?
