Who Freebies @ Forbidden Planet Tomorrow!

Got some free time tomorrow? If you do, you may want to consider heading down to a Forbidden Planet store near you for their Doctor Who Day which will be full of goodies as well as a look at the very special TARDIS speaker that can be paired with Smartphone devices.

The TARDIS as a loudspeaker!

Starting tomorrow from noon, Forbidden Planet will be demonstrating the TARDIS speaker in their London store prior to its official release in April (details below) but if you can’t make it to that event then never fear because the company will be having lots of Doctor Who related fun at its other branches in Southampton, Newcastle, Liverpool, Croydon, Coventry, Bristol and Birmingham.

There will be:

A prize draw- drop your name in the box in store to win great Doctor Who prizes.

Goody bags- grab a great goody bag – but get there early, stocks are limited!

A Doctor Who sale- look out for bargains as our great Doctor Who sale begins.

The Doctor’s confectionaries of choice- free Jammy Dodgers and Jelly Babies – while stocks last.

The goody bags are to be supplied by Pyramid Posters and will include some very cool stuff!

The TARDIS speaker will be available for demonstration on the day and will show off the unique features of the sound system that stands at thirty two centimeters tall and features Bluetooth 2.1 connectivity. You can pair you Smartphone to it for music playback, or to listen to a Big Finish or AudioGo story, through its 2.1 channel speakers. You can also use it as a charging system through the USB port that it has – and in a stroke of genius, it makes the TARDIS materialisation sound when pairing with a device!

You can find out more about the Forbidden Planet Doctor Who Day (nationwide tomorrow – that’s 6th April 2013, folks) and information on how to pre-order your Doctor Who speaker here.

And don’t forget to watch The Rings of Akhaten tomorrow at 6.15pm!

Nothing at the Glasgow store, typical.

Nothing at the Edinburgh one either, typical!

    • Andy Wood says:

Glasgow and Edinburgh are Forbidden Planet International … Forbidden Planet were the company doing the promotion … two entirely different companies – with virtually the same name – been that way for years : /

  3. Andy Wood says:

” The original chain split into two firms, called Forbidden Planet and Forbidden Planet Scotland (later renamed Forbidden Planet International). Forbidden Planet International grew beyond Scotland to include stores throughout the Midlands, in Wales, Northern Ireland, Ireland and majority ownership of two stores in New York City “
