Tennant on 50th: “There’s nothing quite like Doctor Who”

Tenth Doctor Who star David Tennant has recently spoken about being back on the set for the show’s 50th anniversary.

10thdr-flying-hp1Is it us, or does he sound as if he’d like to go back long-term…?

“It is strange being back in the same suit, but it also feels very familiar and comfortable. There’s nothing quite like Doctor Who. It has a wonderful excitement about it. I always had happy times there.”

The actor – currently seen in ITV’s Broadchurch – is returning to appear alongside his successor Matt Smith for the show’s 50th anniversary. Doctor Who has a tradition of multi-Doctor episodes, with The Three Doctors and The Five Doctors filmed for the tenth and twentieth anniversaries.

Tennant also noted that he was enjoying working with Rose Tyler actress Billie Piper again, who has also returned.

“It’s lovely to be around Billie again, even though I see her all the time anyway.”
