The Rings of Akhaten Trailer

Doctor Who Series 7b continues next Saturday with The Rings of Akhaten, an episode written by Neil Cross (Luther) and directed by Farren Blackburn (The Doctor, the Widow and the Wardrobe).

The BBC and BBC America have both issued trailers for the adventure, which features an alien marketplace apparently utilizing as many as 50 prosthetic masks. Below is the BBC America trailer.

Next are two BBC trailers:

Good to see Clara thrown into an alien-heavy situation, much like Rose Tyler in End of the World. But just what is that orange energy emanating from the Doctor? Could it be…?

The Rings of Akhaten is scheduled for Saturday, April 7th at 6.15 on BBC One and 8 ET on BBC America. We’ll have a detailed preview tomorrow…

I think the American trailers seem easier to follow – it felt like a bit of a mish-mash after the Bells ep. Looking forward to seeing how Neil Cross does as a writer. Nice to get another scifi alien ep.

I agree – the episode looks really interesting thanks to the American trailer. The UK trailer makes the episode seem unclear and not very exciting!
