In the latest development in the will-he-won’t-he direct an episode of Doctor Who, Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit director Peter Jackson has confessed that he’s happy to work for very little payment – just one gold Dalek…

While shooting rumours (which contradict the official line of production taking place in April) suggest that Peter Jackson has missed the boat for the 50th anniversary (unless he was speaking from a hotel room in Cardiff…), with Entertainment Weekly being a print publication, he could have been speaking a few weeks ago.
It seems that not only was Jackson being honest in his previously expressed interest in directing, but that’s he’s also met with Steven Moffat to confirm it. Most intriguing, however, is Peter Jackson’s modest payment requirements.
If that’s all he wants, Steven Moffat should already be finding a companion Hobbit to travel to Mordor with in order to shake the rings of Peter Jackson’s fingers, quite frankly. The Grand Moff is, as ever, not giving anything away…
We’re theoretically on board for anything… provided we’ve got a great story.
Surely every Doctor Who is a great story though Steven?

this would be a huge moment in dw history…the press and publicity would be huge in both the uk and usa if peter jackson were to actually direct an episode!
Would love to see this happen if the script is right. I also would love to see Duncan Jones (Moon, Source Code) direct one as well.
