Matt Cemented

Don’t Miss Matt on TV This Weekend!

There’s a definite feeling of Doctor Who on television this weekend as both Comic Relief and The Jonathan Ross Show feature appearances by Matt Smith!

Matt Cemented

First of all, there is Comic Relief, the bi-annual fundraiser that has had several connections with Doctor Who over the years, moat notable 1999’s The Curse of the Fatal Death and 2011’s Space and Time all written by Steven Moffat. The Doctor Who component of Comic Relief is largely unknown, but is believed to be rather brief. You’ll be fascinated to learn, I’m sure, that Matt was accosted by Dawn French on BBC Radio 2 earlier today and forced to kiss her. What affect this will have on his career from now on is anybody’s guess…

Comic Relief’s Red Nose Day special kicks off on BBC One this evening at 7pm, and will also feature Tenth Doctor David Tennant.

Meanwhile, Matt Smith appears on ITV’s The Jonathan Ross Show on Saturday. We expect he’ll be avoiding telling us anything about Doctor Who Series 7b or the 50th anniversary…

Christian Cawley

A long-term Doctor Who fan, Christian grew up watching the show and has early memories of the Graham Williams era. His favourite stories are Inferno, The Seeds of Doom and Human Nature (although The Empty Child, Blink and Utopia all come close). When he’s not bossing around the news team, Christian is a freelance writer specialising in mobile technology and domestic computing, and enjoys classic rock, cooking and spending time in the countryside with his wife and young children. You can find him on Twitter, Facebook and Google+.
