The dates and times have been announced for Gregory Doran’s production of William Shakespeare’s Richard II – starring David Tennant in the titular role as the vain king whose very human weaknesses drag his people into a dynastic civil war lasting 100 years.

The play starts in Stratford from the 10th October until 16th November and then transfers to the London Barbican from 7th December until 25th January 2014.
Tickets for two venues – London’s Barbican and the Royal Shakespeare Theatre in Strafford-Upon-Avon – go on sale on the 7th March. Providing there are no understudy performances that means David Tennant will take part in 85 depictions of the monarch.
As reported by David Tennant News, it would appear that the London press night for Richard II will be on the 12th December.
