Banging the drum for the passion, the desire and the creativity of you – the Whovians – Doctor Who: 50th Anniversary Documentary is looking for you, yes you, to back its quest to hunt down and chat to as many fans of the show as humanly possible in this its anniversary year.

Doctor Who themed projects are looking for backing on Kickstarter

Seeking to right the wrongs of other negative fandom doc’s the film will explore how Doctor Who fans have incorporated their devotion into everyday life, from writing blogs and books, to those who make it their mission to collect every TARDIS Teapot, Dalek Duvet and Cyberman Clock!

Basically, it’s you!

Already lined up to chat about the Doctor are author and Dalek writer Robert Shearman, Adventures with the Wife in Space creator Neil Perryman and his wife Sue, Rob Hull, the holder of the Guinness World Record for owner of the most Dalek Models (which number a staggering 571) and animator Rob Ritchie.

Doctor Who: Celebrating 50 Years of Fandom!

The makers of the film have already pointed their cameras at attending Whovians at last year’s Dimensions Doctor Who convention and they’ve now got a taste for you! They want backers via its Kickstarter page to pay for both equipment and transportation so it can reach out and meet you wonderful people.

The film aims to be completed by late October 2013. For a full list of the packages available to backers head over to the Doctor Who: 50th Anniversary Documentary page at!

About the Author

Everyone has a favourite Doctor and mine - just for his honesty, his fairness and his ability to not notice the Master's awful, awful disguises/anagrams (Sir Gilles Estram!?!) - has to be the Fifth Doctor, Peter Davison. The stories didn’t serve him as well as his acting served those stories.
