Arrow’bout this! Alex Kingston is to join the cast of CW’s Arrow in a guest role that, like dreams and decimals, will be recurring reports IGN.

According to EW.Com Kingston will be playing Dinah Lance aka the first Black Canary – the mother of Dinah ‘Laurel’ Lance (Katie Cassidy) and ex-wife of Detective Quentin Lance (Paul Blackthorne) – who returns to Starling City (where the Arrows are green and the girls are pretty) to make amends with her family and find closure in the tragic death of her other non-Canary daughter.

In comic lore, the Black Canary – the crime-fighting florist – was eventually succeeded by her daughter.  So far, there has been no mention of superhero alter-egos so there maybe hope for Earth-Two yet!

Already amongst the cast is fellow ex-Doctor Who co-star, Torchwood’s very own Captain Jack Harkness, John Barrowman.
