Silva Screen – the musically-minded purveyors of Doctor Who soundtracks both new and old – is kicking off the launch their commemorative Doctor Who 50th anniversary website with the release of an absolute classic.
Rightly revered for their innovative work in electronic music Roger Limb and the BBC Radiophonic Workshop played a pivotal role in bringing to a close the era of the Fifth Doctor with the soundtrack for The Caves of Androzani – released for the first time on CD and Download.

I’m getting all nostalgic – I haven’t seen any new Silva Screen releases since the BBC started putting out soundtracks for the revival. Nice to see them back at it.
I hope they can negotiate the use of the theme tune. I know Warners own the rights to it – hence even the programme not being allowed to use it outside of the main opening and end titles.
