Another Doctor Who/Star Trek Crossover

Space: the ultimate Kickstarter. These are the voyages of the Starship Enterprise and a Gold Dalek; their mission: to reach the edge of space, provide us with sweet HD footage, and to land somewhere retrievable; to boldly go where no Icon has gone before!

It’s Team Dalek Vs Team Enterprise: The Race to the Edge of Space!

This Spring Karlos Fandango will celebrate both Doctor Who’s and Star Trek’s respective anniversary’s by attempting to race models of both a Gold Dalek and the Enterprise to the stratosphere and back!

And it’s time to pick sides!

Not only will the models ascend to the heavens on two separate helium balloons, with a camera attached to the team with the most backers, capturing every moment but they’ll also be attempting to capture their descent from the ground; something which the project has never achieved before.

The main challenge involved will retrieving the crafts once they return to Earth; something which has eluded the experienced crew on their previous launches. This final mission represents their last chance to conduct the perfect flight.

As of writing, the project has 24 backers who have raised a mammoth £448 of a £150 goal with 14 days to go!

So which one is better; Team Dalek or Team Enterprise? There’s only one way to find out; flight!

Be sure to check out Karlos Fandango’s Kickstarter page for a full break down of the packages available.

About the Author

Everyone has a favourite Doctor and mine - just for his honesty, his fairness and his ability to not notice the Master's awful, awful disguises/anagrams (Sir Gilles Estram!?!) - has to be the Fifth Doctor, Peter Davison. The stories didn’t serve him as well as his acting served those stories.

  1. Thanks for your piece.
We eventually raised enough cash to add Darth Vader’s TIE Fighter to the race, so it’s going to be Dalek v Enterprise v Vader & they’ll all carry HD cameras!
The race iself will raise money for a children’s hospice & all the sponsors names will be going to The Edge of Space too:
