Vintage 1980′s Doctor Who 25th Anniversary Playset

Many of you that are new to Doctor Who and to Kasterborous won’t remember Dapol. They produced a great number of Doctor Who toys many years ago in the late 1980’s until the late 1990’s and were very much the Character Options of their day.

They had some infamous gaffs including the release of a green coloured model of K-9 due to their source material having a strange lighting effect and a two armed version of Davros, which is very strange. However, if you wanted to build your own Doctor Who scene or create an impressive Doctor Who display, they were your company.

For collectors of the range, those who simply can’t pass a piece of Doctor Who merchandise up or people who like to relish in nostalgia, might we suggest that you pay a visit to eBay, where you can currently get your hands on the very rare Doctor Who 25th anniversary diorama play set from Dapol.

Consisting of a TARDIS shell, the Seventh Doctor, his friend at the time Melanie Bush, K-9 and the TARDIS (five-sided!) console from the Seventh Doctor’s 1987 series, this is definitely something that you don’t come across every day. There are a few minor problems with the set but after 25 years, we’re surprised these models even exist anymore.

There’s a few hours left on the bidding which is currently just under eighty pounds. Visit eBay for all of the details that you need.

What happens when an eight year old kid watches the 1993 repeat run of Planet of the Daleks? He pretty much ends up here writing about the show that grabbed hold of him and never let go!

I remember them. I didn’t like the Dalek colour schemes so I spent an afternoon, with my aircraft paints, painting a grey Dalek red with blue bumps (copied the Dalek on the cover of a Target novel ‘The Mutation of Time’.

Also, so a geezer in a place called Brean selling Dapol figures in a car boot sale. The figures were still boxed. He wanted £20 a piece – I didn’t buy any because I wasn’t sure if that was reasonable or not…

Anyone fill me in on the going rate of a 7th Doctor and Mel (separate).
