Both the theme arrangement and title sequence are absolutely brilliant stylistically and conceptually – However their potential was pretty wasted…
The bassline in the theme is barely audible – Too sublime, not driving enough. And also way, WAY too repetitive (the dum-dum-diddies – The patterns rising or falling from one key of the bassline to the other – G to E, for example, B to E – In longer themes, like ones which contain the middle 8, also D to B, and D to G – are all gone, and so are even the dum-de-dums. It’s all just the 4-note diddilydums now…), and in the titles, it looks like someone with hardly any actual VFX experience made it in about a day – It’s just so horribly rushed out…
Hope it’ll be fixed by the 50th or at least Christmas.
