Richard E. Grant guest stars in Doctor Who: The Snowmen

Matt “Delighted” By Richard E. Grant

Change is good, change is important, change is something that Doctor Who needs every once in a while. This Christmas sees the dawn of a new era for the Eleventh Doctor – basically he’s Pondless.

Richard E. Grant guest stars in Doctor Who: The Snowmen

After two and a half years of travelling through time and space with Rory and Amy, the Doctor now finds himself alone. But alone doesn’t always mean desolate as we’re about to find out.

The Snowmen premieres on Christmas day and it looks like it’s going to be one of the best doctor Who Christmas specials ever. There’s snow, there’s Madame Vastra, a Sontaran, Richard E. Grant and one or two more surprises headed our way!

Smith is very happy with this year’s special and commented through the BBC about the Doctor’s outlook on life after the Ponds and the energy that Jenna Louise-Coleman has brought to the show:

“You get to see a different side to him…she [Coleman] is a very different to Amy Pond. That is the great thing about this show…reinvention – it keeps me as an actor on my toes!”

Think about how different David Tennant’s performance was after Billie Piper and Freema Agyeman left and then remember that this is Smith’s first time with a new companion, we’re in for a treat!

Smith also commented on Richard E Grant’s performance in The Snowmen as well:

“He was a delight and brilliant at being villainous. Some actors are just made for the show and he was one of them. And he looked wonderful in Victorian garb.”

We’ve got just 11 days until the brilliance of Doctor Who returns and this year’s Christmas special is going to be amazing!

About

What happens when an eight year old kid watches the 1993 repeat run of Planet of the Daleks? He pretty much ends up here writing about the show that grabbed hold of him and never let go!
