There have been mutterings recently suggesting that Doctor Who is starting to be viewed as a religion or way of life for some people, as they watch the show or grow up on it from a young age, they adopt the Doctor’s moral value system and his stubborn streak of goodness, which is no bad thing at all.
Taking things a little further, albeit tongue in cheek, new author and massive Doctor Who fan Michael Gilroy-Sinclair has released a book called Whostrology, which lets you look at your life and bring as much order to it as possible. The book is not designed to be serious but should hopefully deliver a few smiles over the Christmas period. Gilroy-Sinclair explained:
“It’s been great fun to write it and it’s intended to raise a smile. It has involved watching 50 years of Doctor Who episodes again – which for a fan like me has hardly been a hardship!…I can remember making notes and starting to write it during the last Olympics and finally signing it off in time for this year’s Olympics.”
Nearly four year’s worth of perseverance? Now that’s dedication to Doctor Who!
Whostrology by Michael Gilroy-Sinclair is published by Telos and is available for £10.99 from Amazon.
