7th Doctor and Mel

Sylvester McCoy @ Hal-Con 2013

Hal-Con logoWherever the Daleks go, the Doctor must follow.  So after Hal-Con hosted Nicholas Briggs, the voice of the Daleks, it only makes sense that they bring in a Doctor to save us all.  Sylvester McCoy is coming to Canada.

From November 8th to November 10th, 2013, Sylvester McCoy will be in Halifax, Nova Scotia for the 4th annual Hal-Con Convention.

Co-Chair Jennifer Lambe has this to say:

As Hal-Con continues to grow, we aim to meet as many demands of our highly diversified audience as possible. Bringing in a Doctor addresses the need of our Whovians and brings in some big name talent at the same time. We are pleased to be hosting Sylvester McCoy for our fourth event in November 2013 to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Doctor Who.

In the closing ceremonies of Hal-Con 2012 the committee and board cheered in anticipation as they listed some of the guest for next year, the biggest names being Billy Dee Williams, Robert J. Sawyer and of course, The Seventh Doctor himself, Sylvester McCoy.

Hal-Con is a sci-fi & fantasy convention run, and owned, by volunteers. Based out of Halifax, Nova Scotia in the east coast of Canada, their first convention was in 2010 and premiered with great success.  They followed it up with a triumphant return in 2011. Hal-Con guest alumni have included Denise Crosby (ST:TNG), Walter Koenig (ST:TOS), Bill Murphy & Kevin Corbett (MST3K), Erin Gray (Buck Rogers), Nicholas Brendon (BTVS), JG Hertzler (ST:DS9), RA Salvatore (Legend of Drizzt), Brandon Sanderson (Wheel of Time) and Robert Maillet (300).
