Meeting for the first time at Big Blue Box 2, a one day convention in Tunbridge Wells, Cy Town and Nicholas Pegg will come face to face to exchange ideas about how best to exterminate humans.

Cy Town was a Dalek prop operator from 1973 onwards starting with the Third Doctor epic Frontier in Space and continuing all the way to 1988’s Remembrance of the Daleks. Nicholas Pegg has been an operator since 2005’s Bad Wolf.

The two will be joined by producers, writers, historians and composers who will all discuss their passion for Doctor Who in various panels. Louise Jameson (Leela) and Sarah Sutton (Nyssa) will also be in attendance to make everyone smile.

All of that and a concluding performance by comedian Toby Hadoke of My Stepson Stole My Sonic Screwdriver. This is really one of those events you need to go to!

Compaid Chief Executive, Stephen Elsden, who is organising the event, says: “I’m thrilled to be holding this convention in the 50th anniversary year of Doctor Who, and the number of stars of the show who have agreed to come down and support Compaid is terrific.”

Tickets for Big Blue Box 2 (which takes place on Saturday, 16 March 2013) are available for £50 each and can be purchased via www.trinitytheatre.net or by calling 01892 678678. You could also email [email protected] for details.

What happens when an eight year old kid watches the 1993 repeat run of Planet of the Daleks? He pretty much ends up here writing about the show that grabbed hold of him and never let go!
