As there is still time for you to catch up on TV later this evening when the main special items of the televised appeal are repeated, we won’t spoil it for you now – suffice to say that the prologue appearance of Strax, Madame Vastra and Jenny Flint is one that you won’t forget in a hurry.

But why are we wasting time with this, when you want to know the title of the Christmas episode? Displayed at the opening of the trailer that follows the prologue, it’s something makes perfect sense, considering what follows…

The Snowmen

I don’t know about you, but it makes perfect sense following on from version of A Christmas Carol and The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe, two Christmas classics. Raymond Briggs’ The Snowman is a more recent classic, and while the contents of the trailer suggest something far removed from that heart melting tale, the title retains that seasonal connection.
