Peruvian Who?

The Doctor has travelled far and wide in his incredibly long life. From the Medusa Cascade to alternative dimensions during his televised adventures, we’ve seen him arrive in exotic locations on the planet Earth as well such as Spain and New York; all of which has given actor Matt Smith a bit of a travel bug and prompted him to start suggesting future countries that the Doctor might like to arrive in.

At the top of Smith’s list is Peru, well known for its beautiful surroundings and ability to ensnare students travelling on their gap years. Speaking recently at The Doctor Who Experience in Cardiff, the actor talked about his ideas for Doctor Who in the future:

I’d quite like to go back to America. I also think you could make quite a fun episode in Iceland or South America, or you could go to Peru. I’d like to film something in those places. The Pyramids would be fun, too, but I’d rather go to Peru.

The Pyramids would be a fantastic idea indeed, with the possibility of a return for Sutekh the Destroyer or one of the other Osirians.

Where would you like the Doctor to go next? Is Peru the best idea that the production team can come up with or is there another corner of the globe that the Doctor should drop in on?

What happens when an eight year old kid watches the 1993 repeat run of Planet of the Daleks? He pretty much ends up here writing about the show that grabbed hold of him and never let go!
