Mark Gatiss, that clever man behind various Doctor Who and Sherlock episodes, will be appearing in a new series of radio comedy Living with Mother.
The show, which is due to start its second series, looks at the trials and tribulations of grown men that still live at home with their mothers. The first episode will have Gatiss as a talentless pop star wannabe whose mother despairs at the thought of him embarrassing himself in front of the nation. Gatiss has played a similar role in his television show The League of Gentleman, with one of his characters as a washed up pop star, so his performance should be pretty engaging.
As well as Gatiss, Living with Mother will have some other great talent for the rest of its run including Brigit Forsyth, Tom Goodman-Hill, Greg Hemphill, Susan Jameson, Daniel Mays, Linda Robson and Alison Steadman.
The first series of Living with Mother won the critics over and was very well received by audiences, the second series looks to be more of the same with some wonderful observations regarding the kind of nightmare relationship that some people can have with their parents.
Living with Mother will air on BBC Radio Four on October 31st at 11:15pm.
