He’s Still Waiting…

Mark Williams in Doctor Who Series 7

If you’re like me, you’ve probably been wondering about poor old Brian Williams. Rory’s Dad has been hanging around the Ponds’ house, watering the plants and waiting for his son and Amy to return from their latest travels with the Doctor.

He’s going to have a long wait.

The BBC’s official Doctor Who website has revealed that a scene was scripted in which some the answers concerning Brian (Mark Williams) and Rory (Arthur Darvill) and Amy (Karen Gillan), but never shot.

After all, thanks to The Angels Take Manhattan, his son is trapped in time…

On the plus side, they’re bringing us “animated storyboards and a voice-over specially recorded by Arthur Darvill” tomorrow, Friday 12th October, in which we’ll discover more… P.S. is written by Chris Chibnall. Executive Producer Caro Skinner, said:

We’re delighted we can present this lovely scene written by Chris Chibnall. People took Rory’s dad, Brian, to their hearts very quickly, so it’s fitting we can give the character a degree of closure in this poignant piece.

We can’t wait!

I would think that there might be a special part of the 50th celebration or maybe just at the end of this series, that we’ll see River again as well as Brian as they all get some closure. I really can’t see the Moff leaving poor Brian hanging.

Couldn’t Rory write to his dad via a delayed solicitor’s letter, a la Blink’s letter? Perhaps with a few photos of their lives over the years out of time…

Couldn’t Rory write to Brian via delayed solicitor’s letter as happened in Blink?
