Classic Era Talking Daleks Are Coming!

Talking Daleks from Doctor Who history!

We’re sure that you all enjoyed Asylum of the Daleks. It was tense, lightly disturbing and packed quite the punch for a series opener.

Maybe you felt, however, that there wasn’t enough use of some of the more classic Daleks. Maybe the episode could have had more interaction from an older model to really show how the Daleks have been completely evil in whatever iteration they’ve held.

If that sums up your feelings then you can make your own version of Asylum of the Daleks thanks to the good people at Character, who have released six talking Dalek figures from different eras of the Doctor’s encounters with them.

There’s the bronze Time War Dalek, showing up fittingly in 2012 when the Ninth Doctor first encountered them on screen in Dalek, two sixties style Daleks that represent the iterations from The Dalek Invasion of Earth and the Second Doctor adventure Power of the Daleks, there’s a grey soldier Dalek from Planet of the Daleks and a silver and black trooper from Death to the Daleks that both represent the Third Doctor’s tenure and finally a gold and white Dalek to remind us all of their encounter with the Sixth Doctor in Revelation of the Daleks.

All six versions contain contemporary speech and sound effects that represent their individual characteristics from the various eras. They’re available from various retailers but we’ll recommend Forbidden Planet as a good choice to start your search for a cracking offer.

Don’t delay, make yourself an army today!

What happens when an eight year old kid watches the 1993 repeat run of Planet of the Daleks? He pretty much ends up here writing about the show that grabbed hold of him and never let go!
