Big Finish Reveals The Sands of Life Cover

David Warner guests with Tom Baker and Mary Tamm in The Sands of LifeThe cover for The Sands of Life, the second story of 2013’s run of Fourth Doctor Adventures, has been released by Big Finish.

Sadly, it also marks one of the last Doctor Who stories to be recorded by the wonderful Mary Tamm before her untimely death, but at least we get her unique and charismatic interpretation of Romana for six more months in the New Year.

The story, which also marks a return for John Leeson as K-9, guests stars the fantastic David Warner (Doctor Who Unbound, and a coming episode of Series 7) and Doctor Who Magazine contributor Toby Hadoke (Moths Ate My Doctor Who Scarf) in what will be the first of four appearances. Producer David Richardson explains:

“I loved Nick’s script… it sets up an interesting arc for the series which will see David Warner and Toby Hadoke recurring through four of the releases.

How this story arc will play out through the run of stories is anyone’s guess although is that a cheeky Cybermat that we can spot on the front cover or is it just our imagination?
