Hey here’s fun – can you guess who the “iconic star” guesting in Doctor Who Series 7 and set to be announced by the BBC at midnight tonight is?
Nor can we; given that Diana Rigg and David Warner have both been cast in the current run already, we can only imagine that they’re either talking about someone of international repute (an international superstar with heavy cultural influence) OR someone who has already starred in the series in the past.
Casting news! An iconic star will be appearing in #DoctorWho and we’ve been granted permission to reveal who at midnight… See you at 00:00!

So with those suggestions in mind, let the floodgates open…
…and we’ll be here at midnight to share the revelation with you!

We haven’t seen John Barrowman alongside Smith’s Doctor yet, so it could be him…
…either that, or perhaps David Tennant as the Metacrisis Doctor?!
If it’s Justin Beiber I will seriously murder someone at the BBC.
Or even a step towards a possible multi doc story. So possibly Megan or other classic series doctor.
Megan who?
I’m sorry I mean’t Paul Meggan
It’s Paul McGann
probably the Queen after her starring role in the latest Bond movie
Tom Baker?
Colin Firth for the Xmas special
Richard Madden?
Anthony Hopkins
My money’s on somebody a bit Hollywood for the Christmas special.
But for another 20 minutes I can dream that it’ll be a classic Doctor.
Almost right on both counts, Paddy…
Yeah, he’s a little bit Hollywood.
I can’t help wishing they’d have gone for a certain other member of the “Withnail & I” cast.. and no, not Richard Griffiths!
Might be Stephen Fry. He’s certainly iconic and has been connected to the show before, albeit in a way that didn’t come to fruition.
We can but hope.
Well, chaps the answer is right here: http://www.kasterborous.com/wordpress/wp-content/uploads/2010/dw-s7-REG.jpg
